The Grand Hotel is one of Taipei’s landmarks and, I’m guessing, the only hotel in Taipei to have air-raid tunnels in the basement. This video from CNNGo explains that the escape routes were added in the hotel’s expansion in 1973 in case VIPs needed to escape in an emergency, more specifically due to an attack from mainland China.
And while that’s plenty interesting on its own, the real gem to come out of these tunnels is the video above, featuring a Chinese reporter who expected a tamer slide than what she got, as expressed in her unexpectedly cartoon-like shrieking. If you’re in need of a laugh, this should help.
I need to work at Twitter so I can have FRIENDS FOR LIFE!
I’ve been on a “Take On Me” mood for the past…24 hours. Which reminded me how much I loved the literal version. What a masterpiece.

“Dancing With An iPod In Public” is a beautiful thing. I mean, that’s pretty much what you want to do when you’re listening to “All I Want For Christmas Is You.”
I may have watched this video three times tonight. …Maybe. …Yeah.
